Backup software for Windows

One of my interest is updating latest software, patches, apps, and operating system in my devices and to test them. Sometimes I run beta updates in my iPad to test beta features before it reaches to public. I constantly send bug reports to the development team. In day one I have updated my operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Prior to Windows 7, I had Windows 10 Beta. But unluckily it crashed couple times which made to switch from HDD to SSD. If you are planning to buy SSD, check this one out.

Backup software for Windows

In this blog article, we are going to see off topic from testing (just for a change) about backup software for Windows operating system. Before upgrading from my Windows 7 to Windows I have downloaded free version of backup software for Windows 7 from http://www.backup-utility.com/

There are two versions of AOMEI Backupper Standard For Win7 available: Free and Pro. It is specially designed for Windows operating system (7/8/8.1/10). You can download the free version from http://www.backup-utility.com/download-for-win7.html

There are many editions of AOMEI Backupper for Windows PC: Standard, Professional and so on. Standard edition is specially designed for Windows operating system (7/8/8.1/10) free to use. You can click free backup software to download and try.

Download file size is 36.3 MB, either you can download it from CNET or locally. Once you have downloaded, just click on exe file and follow the wizard, just like you install any other software. You can launch AOMEI Backupper from desktop or shortcut icon too.

Once you launch, click on Create New Backup and select which type of backup you want to create. For the whole system backup, click on System Backup which will backup whole Windows and create an image of system partition. You can click appropriate options as per your needs.

The user interface is clean and minimal as you see in the above screenshot. In Backup screen, enter the name of your task e.g. My System Backup and click on Start Backup. After couple of minutes, you will get success message. You can customize the backup options like encryption, enabling email notification, compression (higher the compression, higher the backup duration process), splitting the larger files, sector based backups, and VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service).

AOMEI Backupper has options to restore the image/task, clone the hard disk, system, and partition, and few extra utilities such as checking the data integrity, create a bootable media, explore the image, export/import the configuration, AOMEI PXE Boot tool, and log viewer during backup process.

Pro Version features:

Apart from above said features, Pro version has greater flexibility such as command line utility by creating batch scripts, merging the images into one, backup disk management, own SMTP email notifications, enhanced speed while backing up and restore, and high priority technical support with 90-day unconditional money back guarantee. One valid license code can be installed in two computers just for $49 (lifetime upgrade).

Verdict:

AOMEI Backupper helped me to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 without any hassle. If you yet to explore Windows 10, it is just about time. Just plan it on this weekend.
