Modern applications being built using latest technologies and framework. It is vital to test the non-functional aspects of the application in different browsers, tablets, mobiles, and desktops. There is a necessity that performance testing tool must support major browsers, tablets, mobiles, and desktops. In HPE LoadRunner 12.50, a new protocol called TruClient – Web has been added which fulfills your testing needs in major browsers.
Download latest version HPE LoadRunner. Click on Add New Script and select TruClient – Web and then click on Create button.
Now you can record any three browsers: Chromium, Firefox, and IE. Click on the desired browser from the toolbar as shown below.

What is RORA in HPE LoadRunner?
Acronym for RORA is Record Once and Replay on Any browser. Above scenario were recorded in Chrome. If you want to playback in IE which is possible in HPE LoadRunner 12.50. TruClient Web protocol eliminates the objects’ differences during replay and treats the objects equally in all the browsers (IE, Firefox, and Chromium).
Suppose TruClient Web protocol fails to recognize any objects; you can add If Browser step from Control Flow in the TruClient Web toolbox.
If Browser step
If Browser step has four options: Firefox, IE, Chromium, and Default. Suppose if any object is not recognized by default, you can evaluate using JavaScript or C as shown below or you can utilize other steps to recognize the objects. It is possible to edit the desired browser in HPE VuGen Toolbar or in Run Time Settings in HPE Controller.
You can create scenarios to test your application in different browsers by creating a group for each browser and change the run time settings accordingly in each group.
