The easy method to open any file is simply double clicking on it. It makes our life easy. But when it comes to JMeter, you need to open your JMeter test plan in the UI. In this blog post, I am going to present you a simple but effective hack to save your time by launching JMeter test plan, just like how you open other files such as spreadsheet, text, data, csv files etc. now let us open JMeter test plan by double clicking in Windows 10.
Also, there are other alternative ways to associate the JMeter test plan. As you aware, the file extension of JMeter is *.jmx.

A traditional way
Launch JMETER_HOME > bin > jmeter.bat
After successful launch of JMeter, go to File > Open
Open JMeter test plan by double clicking in Windows 10
Here is the hack to open JMeter test plan by double clicking on any *.jmx file in Windows 10 operating system.
Right click on valid JMeter test plan, go to Open with > Choose another app as shown below.
Click on More apps
Click on Look for another app on this PC and then you must check Always use this app to open .jmx files
Go to your JMeter folder > bin and select jmeter-t.cmd and then click on Open
Upon clicking on Open, JMeter will launch and open the file where you right clicked on it.
Henceforth, if you double click on any .jmx files, command prompt will launch and eventually the JMeter test plan will open in the UI.
Command Line launch
Using the jmeter-t.cmd file, you can launch your JMeter test plan in the UI.
Open command prompt app.
Change the directory to JMETER_HOME > bin
Issue the below command and hit enter.
jmeter-t <your-JMeter-test-plan-file>

in your favorite editor and go thru the code.
