Recently Apache has released a newer version of JMeter 2.12 which includes noteworthy features and enhancements.
Following are the new features of JMeter 2.12. JMeter now supports Java 8 completely. New elements have been added in this newer version such as Critical Section Controller and DNS Cache Manager.
Core Improvements have been done in test script recorder i.e. Now the tester can notify the child listeners of filtered samplers. Also, now you can test WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) server using HTTPClient4.
Embedded resources now support conditional comments to detect the browsers using User Agent. The tester can control the browser cache simulation using Cache Manager. In JMS Publisher and JMS Point-to-Point, you can set the expiration and the priority fields.
Mail Reader Sampler now supports the number of messages to retrieve and the headers fetch only. You can specify the connection timeout and read timeout in the SMTP sampler. In Synchronizing Timer, you can specify the maximum wait time.
Undo/Redo button has been added. Now it is easy to undo/redo your work. I have been waiting for this feature from the past four years. We can set the history size in the properties, by default it is 25.
Open File dialog opens last opened file paths, I have been waiting for this feature too. Also, Log Viewer shows the JMeter log file as well. There are lots of new features and enhancements have been added in this release. It would be great if you check it out yourself.
